Tender: research and development investments and structural changes in sectors
The European Commission's Directorate-General for Research has launched a call for tenders for a study on research and development (R&D) investments and structural changes in sectors - quantitative and qualitative analysis, and policy recommendations. The study will have to accomplish the following: - analyse the current strengths and weaknesses of knowledge production and use in different industrial sectors of the European economy; - identify factors (including effectiveness of policies) that either accelerate or reduce structural adjustment processes (both sector specific and common to all sectors); - analyse the effect of intra-EU investment in R&D on the sectoral structure of the EU economy. The main content of this study will incorporate patterns of production, procurement, transfer and use of knowledge in different science and technology domains or industrial sectors as well as their dynamics and policy implications. An analysis of the impact of intra-EU investment in R&D on the sectoral structure of the EU economy will also be an essential part, together with the analysis of the effectiveness of policies facilitating structural change. For further information, please contact: European Commission Directorate-General for Research Administration and Finance Sector Office SDME 09/62 Attn: Yves Dejaegere B-1049 Brussels E-mail: rtd-sectors@ec.europa.eu.
