Tender: an econometric input-output model prototype for the EU
The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has launched a call for tenders for an econometric input-output model prototype for the EU. Recently, the JRC's Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) developed a working pilot of an econometric input-output (EIO) model for EU countries. It is designed around the most recent European data, including time series of supply and use tables from Eurostat and socioeconomic accounts from the EUKLEMS ('Productivity in the European Union: a comparative industry approach') project. This model has been implemented in three test countries, and includes a demand side specification and a translog specification of the production side with quasi-fixed capital. The call for tender is for the further development of the pilot to an extended prototype that will cover all EU countries and introduce a number of functional improvements in order to better portray a number of elements such as trade, factor markets and economy/environment interactions. For further information, please contact: European Commission Joint Research Centre Institute for Prospective Technological Studies Expo Building, Calle Inca Garcilaso 3 Attn: Ms Mercè Batet-Alcón 41092 Seville, Spain Tel. +34 954488391 Fax +34 954488300 E-mail: JRC-IE-PROCUREMENT@ec.europa.eu To see the full details of the call, please consult the following web address: http://ted.europa.eu/udl?uri=TED:NOTICE:85440-2010:TEXT:EN:HTML(opens in new window)
