National and Community research policies and programmes on reactor safety
The European Commission, DG XII, has published a report on "National and Community research policies and programmes on reactor safety". The report has been compiled with information received from Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom and the Joint Research Centre at Ispra. It presents the national and Community research policies and programmes on reactor safety for each of these Member States, and includes a list of their major nuclear research facilities. It does not contain information on research performed by reactor industries and utilities. Particular subjects covered are control and operator guidance, PRA/PSA, severe accidents (especially the in-vessel phenomena of core degradation and melt relocation) and fracture mechanics.
