The European Commission has published a call for proposals under the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Coordinated Call for the European Union and Brazil. International cooperation in the programme aims to support European competitiveness and to jointly address, with Brazil, issues of common interest and mutual benefit, thereby supporting also other EU policies (sustainable development, environmental protection, disaster response, security etc). International cooperation activities in the overall Seventh Framework (FP7) Work Programme have three main objectives: - to jointly respond to major global technological challenges by developing interoperable solutions and standards, - to jointly develop ICT solutions to major global societal challenges, - to improve scientific and technological cooperation for mutual benefit. The indicative budget for the call is EUR 5 million, and a similar budget for the call is expected from the Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology. To see the full details of the call, please consult the following web address: http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/dc/index.cfm?fuseaction=UserSite.FP7DetailsCallPage&call_id=377(opens in new window) To see the official call announcement in the Official Journal of the European Union please consult: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:C:2010:261:0007:0007:EN:PDF(opens in new window)
