Director required for the JRC Institute for Remote-Sensing Applications
The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Communities is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Director of the Institute for Remote-Sensing Applications located at Ispra, Italy. The successful candidate will be required to organize, manage and coordinate the activities of the Institute at a scientific and administrative level. These activities consist, in particular, of: - The activities of institutional research related to applications of remote-sensing techniques and the development of advanced techniques; - The activities of institutional scientific and technological support related to earth-observation needs of the Commission services, notably in the field of agriculture; - The activities of scientific and technological support to be allocated on a competitive basis by the services of the Commission; - The participation in indirect action programmes relevant to the competence of the Institute; - The performance of third-party work for other private and public organizations.
