European Research Network on Sustainable Tourism Joint Call 2010
The European Research Network on Sustainable Tourism has published a joint call for proposals for interregional collaborative research projects in the area 'sustainable tourism'. The overall aim of the call is to create collaborative, transnational research opportunities. These will respond to the major European challenges related to tourism sustainability and competitiveness. ERNEST is a European Research Area Network (ERA-NET) initiative established and funded under the ERA-Net Scheme of the European Commission. ERNEST is based on the principle that sustainability is a competitiveness gain in the long term and works towards promoting and rendering more efficient research programmes on this theme, bringing in elements of success from other areas, and coordinating joint actions which increase value and potential impact. The call will bring together academic and the tourist industry research teams in order to develop innovative, sustainable tourist products that can enhance the attractiveness of the European tourism sector. To see the call announcement or for further information, please consult: http://www.ernestproject.eu/coalap/pages-ernest/joint_call.jsf(opens in new window)
