In the framework of the forthcoming call for proposals on 15 December 1994 concerning the specific programme on information technologies, an IMPACT II proposers' day was held on 26 September 1994 in Luxembourg. Some 40 delegates were given the opportunity to present their projects, their areas of interest, and the type of partners they sought. ECHO, the European Commission Host Organization database, was on display, as were CORDIS, I'M Forum and the World-Wide Web. The majority of delegates entered their personal details into the I'M Forum database, which can be accessed on ECHO using the public password "FORUM", via: - NUA: 270448118 - Internet: TELNET ECHO.LU - Direct dialling: Tel. +352-420347 Information was provided on the forthcoming call for proposals, entitled "Information services for businesses and industry". ECU 4 million will be made available to about ten projects, with a proposed maximum funding of 40%, and a project duration of between one and two years. The project cost range is envisaged at about ECU 500,000 to 2 million. It appeared that projects with the best chance of success would involve trans-European industry sector representative bodies, and that a wide range of different sectors would be represented. User involvement would also be an important part of the process.
