The European Commission is organizing a selection procedure to constitute a reserve list of qualified candidates for the recruitment of scientific staff for activities relating to the European Union's scientific and technological policy and the Fourth Framework Programme. The Commission requires Scientific Officers (career bracket A8/A5) in the following fields: - Telematics applications (COM/R/A/159); - Communication technologies (telecommunications, audiovisual media, postal services) (COM/R/A/160); - Information technologies (COM/R/A/161); - Industrial and material technologies (COM/R/A/162); - Measurements and testing (COM/R/A/163); - Environment and climate (COM/R/A/164); - Marine sciences and technologies (COM/R/A/165); - Biotechnology (COM/R/A/166); - Biomedicine and health (COM/R/A/167); - Agriculture and fisheries (COM/R/A/168); - Non-nuclear energy (COM/R/A/169); - Transport (COM/R/A/170); - Targeted socio-economic research (COM/R/A/171); - Initiation, development and management of research programmes (COM/R/A/172). Duties would involve the initiation, preparation, management, monitoring or execution of high-level research activities under the Community research programmes.
