European Parliament adopts eight specific programmes
At its meeting on 17 and 18 November 1994 the European Parliament adopted the remaining eight specific programmes of the Fourth Framework programme for research and technological development and demonstration. The programmes are: - Environment and climate; - Biomedicine and health; - Biotechnology; - Transport; - Dissemination and exploitation of research results; - Nuclear fission safety; - JRC (EAEC); - Controlled thermonuclear fusion. The programmes must now be adopted by the European Council before the Commission can launch calls for tender. The next meeting of the European Council is on 1 December 1994. The expected date for the publication of the first calls for tender under the Fourth Framework Programme is 15 December 1994.
