Call for tenders for disseminating the reference framework for sustainable cities
The European Commission has published a call for tenders for disseminating the reference framework for sustainable cities (RFSC). The RFSC is planned to be an interactive, web-based tool for local authorities and diverse stakeholders that need to make aligned decisions on city strategies, policies and plans. The system will help organise sustainability assessments, monitoring of urban strategy and find examples of policies. It will also be adaptable according to local contexts and user needs. The primary aim of the dissemination phase is to promote the broad use of the RFSC in European cities in order to stimulate internal and external dialogue in and between cities on sustainable urban development. It will also contribute to a common understanding of how to approach urban development in an integrated way and help cities to take stronger ownership of the RFSC. If necessary, further development of the RFSC can be carried out during the dissemination phase. This is to improve the tool or to adapt it to new needs or developments. To see the official call announcement, please consult: OJ No S 68 of 6 April 2012(opens in new window)
