Call for tenders for technical assistance for standardisation work under the ecodesign and energy labelling of energy-related products
The European Commission has published a call for tenders for technical assistance for standardisation work under the ecodesign and energy labelling of energy-related products. The Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC1 established a legal framework for the European Commission to regulate the environmental characteristics of energy-using and energy-related products (except vehicles) through the adoption of measures laying down ecodesign requirements. The Commission may also adopt supplementing measures including labelling requirements in conjunction with ecodesign implementing measures for some energy-related products. For this process, it is necessary to develop standards related to ecodesign and labelling requirements. These standards will provide methods to measure and display specific parameters and to assess products performance. The use of European standards will increase the accessibility, transparency and objectivity of the energy performance assessment in the Member States facilitating the comparison of best practices and supporting the internal market for construction products. To see the official call announcement, please consult: OJ No S 88 of 9 May 2012(opens in new window)
