The European Commission has published its 'FET-Open Xtrack' call for proposals, which is part of the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). By means of a lighter submission process, faster evaluation and simpler project implementation (Xtrack), this call aims to support the field of Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) through the exploration of new and alternative ideas that, because of their risky or non-conventional nature, would not be supported elsewhere in the ICT Work Programme. It seeks: - foundational breakthroughs as crucial steps towards radically new forms and uses of information and information technologies; - novelty that comes from new, high-risk ideas rather than from the refinement of current ICT approaches; - new inter-disciplinary collaborations, possibly with prominent and internationally-recognized non-EU research teams where these can provide a significant added value. To see the official call announcement, please consult: Participant portal To see partnership requests for this call, please consult: CORDIS Partners Service
