An action plan for renewable energy sources in Europe
The European Commission, DG XVII, has published an action plan for renewable energy sources in Europe. The plan is the result of a conference on renewable energy which took place in Madrid on 16-18 March 1994. The plan outlines concrete lines of action and proposes specific measures that will support the increasing use and development of renewable energy sources in Europe. This will, by 2010, enable the substitution of 15% of conventional primary energy demand by renewable energy sources. The following action lines have been identified to achieve these objectives: - Political actions; - Legislative and administrative actions; - Financial and fiscal actions; - Technology actions; - Information, education and training.
