Council Directive 90/220/EEC of 23 April 1990 (OJ No L 117 of 8.5.1990) on the deliberate release into the environment of genetically modified organisms requires the Commission to establish before the end of April 1991 a list of any similar Community legislation which provides for a specific environmental risk assessment regarding products in this area.
