Proceedings of EC/US risk assessment workshop
The European Commission, DG XII, has published the proceedings of a workshop entitled "Human genetic risks from exposure to chemicals, focusing on the feasibility of a parallelogram approach". The workshop took place in Durham, North Carolina, USA, on 11-14 October 1993. The objective of the workshop was to identify the methodology, data requirements, and mechanistic research so as to understand the human impact of germ cell mutagens. It focused on the feasibility of the parallel concept to estimate potential cell germ effects in humans. It presented an evaluation of current knowledge and the identification of future research needs for a more precise assessment of genetic risks to humans from exposure to mutagenic chemicals.
