Some preliminary results of the IMPACT call for proposals for information services for business and industry (OJ No C 258 of 15.9.1994) are now available. By the closing date of 15 December 1994, a total of 103 proposals had been received. After the first evaluation round, 12 projects were shortlisted, although it is not possible to give details of these projects at this stage. The 103 projects submitted involved 565 participating organizations and covered a wide range of business and industrial sectors. A very high level of participation by SMEs was observed. Over 300 of the organizations involved in the proposals are SMEs of less than 50 employees, and about 100 are SMEs of between 51 and 500 employees. The countries with the highest level of participation are the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Greece. A further announcement will be made as soon as more detailed information becomes available.
