The number of proposals received for each area of the programme is as follows: - Exploring new concepts: 24; - Reactor safety: 44; - Fuel cycle: 69; - Radiological impact on man and the environment: 90; - Mastering events of the past: 25. The Nuclear Fission Safety programme will be implemented by means of one call. In order to allow some flexibility in submitting proposals, two deadlines have been set. The first deadline for the call was on 20 March 1995, for which the indicative funding level is ECU 88 million. The second deadline is 28 February 1996 and the indicative funding level for this level is ECU 39 million.
