Under the Community action plan to assist tourism, adopted by the Council on 13 July 1992 (OJ No L 231 of 13.8.1992) the European Commission is publishing calls for proposals for public, private and joint bodies based in one of the countries of the European Economic Area, in the following domains: - Cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries, Maghreb, Cyprus and Malta; - Actions relating to tourism and the environment. All projects must be suitable as demonstration projects. Those who submit projects likely to be selected may be invited to present the projects to the Tourism Unit. The projects must be founded on a partnership between the principal actors of tourism, i.e. tourism industry, national, local or regional authorities, chambers of commerce, universities, NGOs, retailers' associations, interest groups, etc. Applications will remain valid until the end of 1995. The Commission's co-financing will be up to a maximum of 60% of total eligible costs. For details of the areas covered by the calls, please see the text (TXT) field of this news item.
