The European Commission's Informatics Directorate has published a call for proposals for the provision of a turn-key management system for the Commission's multimedia library. The proposed system will cover: - Documentary management and handling of audiovisual materials (video, photographs, sound); - Planning and audiovisual production; - Electronic distribution of audiovisual material. The system will be integrated within the Commission's computer architecture. The selected tenderer will provide complete project supervision for the contract comprising the following seven lots: - Supply, installation and corrective maintenance of the tenderer's management software packages; - All services relating to the project supervision of the operation; - Supply, installation and maintenance of the basic software; - Supply, installation and maintenance of equipment (servers and peripherals); - Establishing a procedure to enable a file to be supplied which can be exploited by the Commission's Luxembourg Computer Centre's documentary distribution programmes; - Service involving the numbering and indexing of 2,000 photographs; - Provision of a documentalist to be responsible for implementing the system.
