Examination of the existing methods used for the distribution of air and rail transport
The European Commission, DG VII, has published a call for proposals to undertake an examination of the existing methods used for the distribution of air and rail transport (including high-speed) services through computerized systems. The purpose of the examination is to determine whether common or harmonized systems represent feasible options to be encouraged. The study will involve an analysis of the current situation (types of distribution system used, number of terminals installed, etc.), a cost/benefit analysis of alternative approaches and a review of possible developments in the sector. The tender documentation is available from: European Commission DG VII/C-2 Mr. H. Hilbrecht 200 rue de la Loi (BU 33/6-5) B-1049 Brussels Tel. +32-2-2968174; Fax +32-2-2968353
