FAIRsFAIR Data Object Assessment Metrics - Have Your Say

FAIRsFAIR has published fifteen minimum viable FAIRsFAIR Data Object Assessment Metrics (https://fairsfair.eu/fairsfair-data-object-assessment-metrics-request-comments) for the systematic assessment of FAIR data objects. Community feedback on these metrics is urgently sought and can be offered via a dedicated web page which simplifies the process. The closing date for feedback is 30 September.

Developed by the FAIRsFAIR work team responsible for the establishment of certification mechanisms for the identification of trustworthy data repositories, the metrics(opens in new window) are based on indicators proposed by the RDA FAIR Data Maturity Model Working Group (https://www.rd-alliance.org/group/fair-data-maturity-model-wg/outcomes/fair-data-maturity-model-specification-and-guidelines-0(opens in new window)) on the WDS/RDA Assessment of Data Fitness for Use checklist (https://www.rd-alliance.org/group/wdsrda-assessment-data-fitness-use-wg/outcomes/wdsrda-assessment-data-fitness-use-wg-outputs(opens in new window)) and on prior work conducted by project partners such as FAIRdat and FAIREnough. The metrics are presented in a tabular format and for each metric the authors provide a description and assessment details, and define its alignment with the relevant FAIR principle and CoreTrustSeal requirement(s). To be inclusive of current data practices, the metrics will be refined in several iterations and also through two ongoing use cases on FAIR data assessment. Access an overview of the metrics (https://fairsfair.eu/fairsfair-data-object-assessment-metrics-request-comments(opens in new window)) and leave a comment.
