SPRINT: The evaluation of the specific projects action line
The European Commission's SPRINT programme, DG XIII/D, has published a report entitled "The evaluation of the specific projects action line". The specific projects action line (SPAL) is an exploratory action within SPRINT which seeks to improve technology diffusion and technology transfer processes in the EU. Forty large industrial technology transfer projects were supported during a definition phase designed to produce project plans for a further implementation phase. Twenty-one projects have gone through to implementation. All aim to transfer specific technologies across sectoral and national boundaries, to catalyse the future spread of the technologies via a "demonstrator" effect, and to enhance the general understanding of good technology transfer processes.
