A delegation from China's State Science and Technology Commission visited Eurostat, Luxembourg, on 20-21 June 1995.

The visit of the Chinese delegation gave Eurostat an opportunity to exchange information and experiences gained in the field of R&D and Innovation statistics with an Asian country. During the visit, the Chinese delegation expressed great interest in future cooperation with Eurostat. Discussions focused primarily on:

- Human resources in science and technology (HRST);
- Regional R&D and Innovation statistics;
- The Community Innovation Survey (CIS).
