A transnational cultural exchange
Ulysses’ Shelter is a literary residency network, initiated in 2017 by the independent Croatian publisher Sandorf. Now in its third phase, the network includes partners across seven countries, offering placements to emerging writers, screenwriters and literary translators in which they can work, perform and present themselves in different social and cultural contexts. In addition to fostering transnational mobility and cultural exchange, Ulysses’ Shelter produces resources for libraries on how to host public meetings and workshops in a participatory format and illustrates how reading spaces can become vibrant platforms for creation and exchange.
