German research programme in new materials
On 24 July 1991, in the context of the R&D aid framework, the Commission approved a Bavarian Government aid scheme in the field of new materials. The "Neue Werkstoffe" programme will assist RTD activities, particularly in the areas of metallurgy, polymers, ceramics and glass, over the period 1991-1996. The budget of ECU 21.9 million will support fundamental research both in industry and research institutions to a maximum intensity of 50% (60% in the case of SMEs).
