Farming insects to feed farmed fish
Europe doesn’t grow enough soy to produce its own animal feed, meaning that the aquaculture industry is reliant on imports, limiting its sustainability. InnovaFeed proposes an alternative: using insects as a source of protein for fish feed. By building an insect rearing facility, deploying new production factories across Europe, implementing a circular value chain, and creating feed solutions formulated for aquaculture species, the project has secured several commercial contracts with leading industry players.
