The European Commission, DG X, has published call for tender for the completion of a study on the economic impact of the Directive "Television without borders" In accordance with the mandate formulated in Council Directive 89/552/EEC, and in addition to its function of monitoring Articles 4 and 5 relating to the broadcasting of European works and independent productions, the Commission is proposing to finance a study to analyse the economic impact of the provisions of the directive "Television without borders". The aim of this study is to provide the Commission with the economic facts resulting from the enforcement of this directive and necessary for an in-depth examination of the development of audiovisual activities in the Member States (including Norway and Iceland) since 1991. The economic analysis shall be detailed and must be based on complete statistical data. It must cover the development of audiovisual landscapes of each of the Member States and in Europe.
