The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has published an invitation to tender for the provision of technical and logistic support to the European Chemicals Bureau (ECB). The European Chemicals Bureau was established, within the Environment Institute of the JRC, with effect from 1 January 1993. The principal task of the bureau is to carry out and coordinate the specific/technical work needed for the implementation of EU legislation in the area of chemical control. The present call concerns to provision of assistance to the ECB, in collaboration with the Public Relations and Publication (PRP) Unit, in the organization of a series of scientific meetings with representatives of the Member States and the industry. Information technology support will be essential in order to facilitate and improve procedures and administration regarding the consultation, storage and printing of scientific documents and Council Directives (including annexes and related publications). The tenderer will also be requested to set up a computer system for the distribution of scientific documents to be discussed during the meetings. Drafts of minutes resulting from the meetings are also requested by the ECB and the PRP unit.
