In accordance with Articles 92 and 93 of the Treaty, the European Commission has granted authorizations for the following State aids: - Sweden: Programme for industrial development in regional policy priority regions, primarily aimed at enabling SMEs to participate in cooperative R&D with other enterprises and research institutions (ECU 16 million); - The Netherlands: Grants for conversion to the production of CFC-free foam plastics for environmental protection purposes (ECU 1.55 million); - Germany: Support for the "Production 2000" project aimed at stimulating research by industry and research institutes (ECU 236 million); - Germany (Thüringen): Innovation fund for technology-oriented companies aimed at stimulating research by SMEs (ECU 64 million); - Spain: Support to "Pitma II Technological and Environmental Programme" aimed at stimulating investments and environmental R&D in the form of grants and interest subsidies to all industrial sectors in general, with part of the budget set aside for SMEs (ECU 303 million).
