Innovation & Technology Transfer - November 1995
"Innovation & Technology Transfer" is published six times a year, in English, French and German, by the European Commission's INNOVATION Programme, which aims to strengthen Europe's innovation infrastructure and disseminate research results to industry. The November 1995 issue includes a dossier on the Information Technologies (IT) programme which looks at measures implemented to encourage the optimum exploitation of IT in industry, commerce and daily life. The section on issues relating to innovation policy and European RTD in general includes an article on the INFO2000 programme entitled "Focusing on multimedia content".It also includes articles on the protection of intellectual property rights in the information society, the European Year of Life Long Learning (1996), social fund training projects and information on regional RTD and INNOVATION conferences. A section devoted to the INNOVATION programme takes a look at a case study which illustrates how the INNOVATION Relay Centres can help transfer new IT applications across national borders and into new industries. A separate article deals with evaluating regional innovation potential under EIMS (European Innovation Monitoring System). The November issue also includes a case study on energy efficient building design in the context of the JOULE programme and a round up of the results of the first calls for proposals under the Fourth Framework Programme.
