Regional development programmes in 1994
The European Commission, DG XVI, has published a report on regional development programmes supported, in 1994, through the European Union's Structural Funds. The European Union's Structural Fund provides non-refundable grants for the financing of regional development programmes proposed by the Member States and approved by the European Commission. This report contains summaries of all 79 regional development projects which were approved by the Commission during 1994. Six Member States were involved: Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Portugal. The summaries provide information about the activities of each project and the funds allocated to it. Projects covered a wide range of activities including: - Infrastructure investment; - Research and development; - Environmental protection; - Training programmes; - Measures to assist small and medium-sized enterprises.
