Call for proposals for RTD activities under the FAIR programme
The European Commission, DG XII, has published a call for proposals for RTD activities under its specific RTD programme in the field of agriculture and fisheries (including agro-industry, food technologies, forestry, aquaculture and rural development) (FAIR) (1994-1998). Organizations eligible to participate in this programme are invited to submit proposals for RTD actions in the following areas: - I. Objectives requiring concentrated means (shared-cost actions (RTD projects), concerted actions): . Area 1 Integrated production and processing chains: . Area 1.1. The biomass and bioenergy chain; . Area 1.2. The "green" chemical and polymer chain; . Area 1.3. The forestry-wood chain; . Area 4 Agriculture, forestry and rural development: . Area 4.1. Reformed CAP: optimization of methods, systems and primary production chains. Agriculture-environment interactions. Policy, relevant economic analysis and impact assessment; . Area 4.2. Quality policy; . Area 4.3. Diversification; . Area 4.4. Animal and plant health, animal welfare; . Area 4.5. Multifunctional management of forests; . Area 4.6. Rural development; . Area 5 Fisheries and aquaculture: . Area 5.1. Impact of environmental factors on aquatic resources; . Area 5.2. Ecological impact of fisheries and aquaculture; . Area 5.3. Biology of species for optimization of aquaculture; . Area 5.4. Socio-economic aspects of the fishing industry; . Area 5.5. Improved methodology. - II. Concertation activities (concerted actions, shared cost actions, thematic networks): . Area 6. Objectives addressed by concertation; - III: Objectives addressed by means of horizontal activities: . Ethical, Legal and Social Aspects (ELSA): shared-cost actions (RTD projects, thematic networks), concerted actions, in all the areas of the work programme, including areas 2 and 3; . Demonstration activities: shared-cost actions (demonstration projects -concerning areas 4 and 5 mentioned above).
