Commission publishes information brochures on the transport Task Forces
The European Commission has recently published two information brochures presenting the work of its Task Forces for "Trains and railway systems of the future" and "Transport Intermodality" respectively. The aim of the brochures is to explain the work of these Commission Task Forces, created, in 1995, at the initiative of Commissioners Cresson, Bangemann and Kinnock. The Task Forces aim, notably, to: - Add value through the improved coordination of existing and planned research activities in the areas in question; - Highlight gaps and, subject to the availability of funding, promote high-profile demonstration projects which will provide essential impetus to the development of these two areas.
