The European Commission's VIPS Scientific Press Service for the dissemination of Community R&D results can now be accessed through the Internet on the CORDIS World Wide Web server. Launched on 29 January 1996, the new VIPS Internet service will further extend access to information on Community RTD projects. This service has since been extended under the INNOVATION programme. The new service is available in five Community languages (English, French, German, Spanish and Italian) and reaches around 3,000 journalists. The VIPS services offers users up-to-date information on RTD projects in various fields, including: energy, the environment, information and communications technologies, industrial and materials technologies, life sciences and technologies. It can be accessed using the URL: http://cordis.europa.eu/VIPS/vips
