Study contract in the field of wastage statistics
The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender for a study contract in the field of wastage statistics (Open invitation to tender XI.E.3/96/0015). This invitation to tender aims, on the one hand, to compensate for the shortage of up-to-date information in the field of waste generation and waste management and, on the other hand, to deal with the problem concerning the comparability of data due to divergent classifications, definitions and methodologies applied in the 15 Member States. The study will comprise two parts: - Part 1: Bringing to light current trends in the fields of waste generation and waste management for the 15 Member States; - Part 2: Feasibility study for the development of a methodology for the establishment of a European system for the collection of data on the generation and management of waste. The entire study must be completed within 12 months from the date of signature of the contract.
