Research fellowships awarded under the MAST programme
The Commission of the European Communities (DG XII/D3), in the framework of the Marine Science and Technology programme (MAST III), provides funds for the training and mobility of researchers in the form of individual fellowships. The main objective of the MAST individual fellowships is to provide opportunities for the advanced training, exchange, and mobility of researchers at the doctoral and postdoctoral level in marine science and technology. There are two selection rounds per year, one in the spring and one in the autumn. In 1995, a total of 36 proposals were received from researchers. Of these, 17 were accepted for funding with a proposed EU contribution of ECU 1.3 million.
