The European Commission, DG XIII, has published an information brochure presenting the Commission's "Multimedia Educational Software" Task Force - one of the research-industry task forces set up, in 1995, at the initiative of Commissioners Edith Cresson and Martin Bangemann. The Task Force's field of interest concerns educational and cultural products and services which can be accessed via television sets or computers, whether or not connected to telematic networks, which are used wither in the home, in educational institutions or at work, and which offer a high degree of interactivity. The brochure presents the objectives of the Commission Task Force and an overview of the present situation, in this area, within the European Union.
