The European Commission, DG XII, has published an information brochure on the Commission's "Car of Tomorrow" Task Force set up, in 1995, at the initiative of Commissioners Cresson, Bangemann and Kinnock. The aim of the Task Force is to contribute to the research and demonstration effort necessary to develop a competitive vehicle that is clean, safe, efficient and intelligent. The brochure provides an overview of the general objectives of the Task Force, examples of ongoing and new activities in this area, the main proposals of the Task Force action plan and the expected benefits of advancement towards the Task Force objectives.
