Amended proposal for Community programme on the prevention of drug dependence
The European Commission has published its amended proposal for a Community action programme on the prevention of drug dependence. The amended proposal extends the duration of the proposed programme by one year until 2001. It also adds a number of action areas to the programme activities, including: - Action targeted at high-risk groups; - Action to improve the level of knowledge on drugs, drug dependence, addiction prevention and reduction of associated risks; - Action to improve training and step up cooperation on the prevention of drug dependence and associated risks. The Commission proposes a budget of ECU 28.5 million to cover the period 1995-2001.
