Energy policy training courses for third countries
The European Commission, DG XVII, has published an invitation to tender for the completion of an identification mission in view of organizing training courses for third countries with respect to energy policy. The mission is to be carried out within the context of the Community's SYNERGY programme for international cooperation, with non-member countries, in the energy sector. The SYNERGY programme is intending to launch a project which will allow nationals of third countries to take long-term, post-graduate courses, in a European university or specialized institute, in order to introduce students to European methods. The aims of the identification mission are to: - Identify institutes (universities, schools, etc.) in the European Union currently offering university level/quality training in matters of energy policy and management; - Conduct a survey in order to determine the institutes willing to adapt their courses to cater for the arrival of foreign nationals (refresher courses, where necessary); - Identify existing cooperation agreements amongst European Union institutes and, on the other hand, between European and non-European institutes with an interest in energy policy.
