Technical assistance: Internal market and financial services
The European Commission, DG XV, has published a call for expressions of interest concerning technical assistance in the fields of the internal market and financial services. The Commission is planning to conclude contracts for gathering information, carrying out studies and providing technical assistance with a view to gaining a fuller understanding of the problems related to the operation of the internal market and to the development of sectors for which DG XV (Internal market and financial services) is responsible. The call for expressions of interest is aimed at creating a file of potential contractors who will subsequently be invited to submit tenders concerning activities in their fields. The work to be carried out will depend on policy or economic requirements, and could relate to the following subjects in particular (this list is neither exhaustive nor exclusive): - Operation of the internal market, with regard to: . Trans-European networks in the fields of transport, energy, telecommunications, data-transmission networks linking administrations and financing of large-scale infrastructures; . Transparency of Community rules; . External dimension of the internal market and financial services; . Free movement of persons and citizen's rights; . Services in the following sectors: business; communication, financial services; travel and tourism; leisure, cultural and sport services; services to individuals; - Free movement of goods, including export controls and standardization and certification; - Financial institutions; - Company law and direct taxation; - Freedom of establishment and freedom to provide services; - Monitoring of the transposition or implementation of Community directives.
