The Economic and Social Committee of the European Union delivered the following three opinions at its plenary session of 22 November 1995: - Opinion on the Commission's Communication to the European Parliament and Council "Towards the Information Society" (OJ No C 39 of 12.2.1996 p. 20); - Opinion on the draft Commission Directive amending 90/388/EEC with regard to mobile and personal communications (OJ No C 39 of 12.2.1996 p. 47); - Opinion on the draft Commission Directive amending Commission Directive 90/388/EEC regarding the implementation of full competition in telecommunications markets (OJ No C 39 of 12.2.1996 p. 52). The three opinions were generally favourable to the Commission's proposals, but the Committee requested the Commission to take into account its views in certain areas, which it felt should be expanded on, or given priority, in the development of a liberalized telecommunications environment. The text of these opinions has now been published in the Official Journal of the European Communities (OJ No C39 of 12.2.1996).
