Assessment of environmental pollution in the southern European regions
The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender for the completion of a study assessing the effects of the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy and of Community rural development measures on the level of environmental pollution in the southern regions of the European Union. The study in question should: - Analyze the effects on the level of water, soil and air pollution in the southern regions of the European Union, resulting from the implementation of agricultural and environmental protection measures covered by structural fund regulations; - Analyze the structures, procedures and indicators used in monitoring and assessing the environmental effects of these measures and identifying explicative factors for these effects; - Propose a methodology for the environmental assessment of these measures; - Draw up recommendations to improve their environmental benefits.
