The European Commission has agreed a payment of ECU 14.9 million to the German Land of Brandenburg under the Community SME initiative concerning the adaptation of small and medium-sized enterprises to the single market.

The funds will go to actions in the following sectors:

- Quality management (ECU 8.86 million);
- Environmental assessments (ECU 1.56 million);
- Strengthening competitiveness (ECU 3.95 million);
- Technical assistance (ECU 0.54 million).
