Further to the call for proposals launched on 17 January 1995 by the Training and Mobility of Researchers (TMR) programme, 91 Research Training Networks were approved for funding. One of these networks, "The Physics of Quantum Information", now has a vacancy for a post-doctoral or graduate student in the field of quantum optics. The job requires a student with experience in experimental physics for work on ongoing research projects in quantum optics. The scientific disciplines involved are experimental physics, optics, classical and quantum physics, entangled photons, non-linear optics, fibre optics, and the foundations of physics. The contract would start on 1 October 1996 and would last for 12 to 24 months. The work would be carried out at the University of Innsbruck in Austria. The Research Training Networks activity of the TMR programme encourages research teams from a number of countries to work together on high-quality joint research projects and to promote the training and mobility of researchers, particularly of young post-doctoral researchers.
