On 17 June 1996, DG XIII of the European Commission will launch a new World Wide Web site providing extensive information on the INNOVATION programme for the dissemination and exploitation of research results. This new home page provides details of all INNOVATION activities and services, and includes information on participation in the forthcoming call for proposals. Initial information on projects approved under the Technology Transfer Validation Project Funding activity is available, along with the criteria for proposal selection, an indicative timetable for the second call for proposals, and a list of contact addresses. Other activities covered include Regional Innovation Strategies, the European Innovation Monitoring System (EIMS) and recent EIMS studies, the European Network and Services (ENS), Innovation Management Techniques, financing innovation, and increasing awareness of innovation with information on the European Awareness Scenario Workshops. INNOVATION services include the RTD Help Desk, information on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), the network of Organizations for the Promotion of Energy Technologies (OPET) and CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service which hosts many of the home pages of the Community's specific RTD programmes. Also provided is a list of contacts for each part of the INNOVATION programme, the Green Paper on Innovation, reports on publications and events, and the Innovation and Technology Transfer Newsletter. Links to related sites and full texts of key documents such as the Council Decision establishing the programme are also available for downloading.
