Interchange of data between administrations - customs quota suspensions system
The European Commission, DG XXI, has launched an open call to tender for computer maintenance services relating to its quota suspensions systems. The framework contract relates to the provision of corrective and evolutional maintenance of the quota suspensions system. The customs tariffs relating to certain goods imported into the European Community can be suspended for a certain period of time. Requests for these suspensions are sent by Member States to the Commission, which in turn makes a proposal to the Council. If the proposal is accepted a suspension regulation is published in the Official Journal. DG XXI operates a computerized suspensions interactive management system. The main uses of the system are to record the suspension requests sent by Member States and to assist in the publication of the suspension regulations in the Official Journal. The work to be subcontracted is as follows: - Corrective maintenance of the existing system: correction of flaws and known bugs; - Evolutional maintenance: design and development of interfaces to and from other systems for the exchange of customs data and textual data; design and development of an interface to the Office for Official Publications for publication of suspension regulations. The project is expected to start in November 1996 and should be completed within three years. Tenderers must demonstrate that they have sufficient experience in the project area and sufficient linguistic coverage of Community languages to carry out the contract. A briefing, which will answer questions relating to the technical aspects of the project, will be held on 26 July 1996 (10.00) at Centre Albert Borschette, 36 rue Froissart, B-1040 Brussels.
