Statistics in focus: Research and development in the European Union
As part of its "Statistics in focus" series, the Statistical Office of the European Commission (EUROSTAT) has published a bulletin on "Research and development in the European Union". By means of concise text and explanatory tables, the bulletin presents an overview of research and development activities in the Member States. In particular, data is provided concerning R&D expenditure by Member State, the number of staff employed in the area of R&D, and the amount of public financing provided for R&D in each country. The bulletin also includes an explanation of the terminology used in the text, and information about additional publications in the field of R&D.
