Approaches to management and effective use of radio-spectrum resource
The European Commission, DG XIII, has launched a call to tender for a study on the approaches to the management and effective use of the radio-spectrum resource. The purpose of the study is, firstly, to provide an account of the procedures and principles which have recently been used or are in current use to assign and manage spectra in Member States and selected countries outside the EU, including the USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand, and, secondly, to analyse their suitability to spectrum assignment management in a European context. The study should also examine from a technical viewpoint how the effective use of spectra is measured in the countries concerned. The study should be completed within eight months. Requests for tender documents, and completed tenders, should be sent to: European Commission DG XIII - Telecommunications, information market and exploitation of research Ms. Alison Birkett Directorate A 200 rue de la Loi (BU31 3/58) B-1049 Brussels Tel. +32-2-2968342/2968209; Fax +32-2-2968393
