The European Commission, DG XIII, has launched an open call to tender for a study on the barriers and problems in implementing a Europe-wide telephone directory.

The study should provide an analysis of the European directory field and identify the major barriers to implementing a virtual universal Europe-wide electronic directory service for access to private and public telephone numbers, mobile numbers, etc. The study should also make recommendations on how to tackle existing and potential future barriers to the development of a pan-European directory service.

The contract should be completed within four months.
